Thanks to visualization you will be able to potentiate your creative ability as well as your imagination, and you will learn how to use them consciously and positively.

Research has shown the great efficacy of visualization to achieve full control of our minds, emotions and body, and to achieve the desired behavior changes that have a positive repercussion on our physical and mental health.

 

An Example of Visualization

Choose a comfortable place and position, close your eyes, breathe deeply several times and send relaxing messages to your muscular groups (face, shoulders, arms, chest, abdomen, legs, etc).

Imagine yourself going down from a mountain and feeling more and more relaxed while you go down. Visualize the landscape in detail: the color of the sky, the fresh breeze touching your face, the beauty of nature….the colors and aromas of the different flowers…….the sensation of peace, tranquility, and harmony. You are relaxed, joyful, enjoying it. When you get down you find yourself in a green valley full of beautiful flowers, where you feel intoxicated with the smell of fresh grass and you feel even more relaxed, in harmony with your surroundings and with your inner self. Now you watch a clear water lake. It is quiet, peaceful, tranquil, and makes you feel deeply relaxed. Enjoy this feeling of peace, harmony and happiness.
After enjoying this wonderful feeling of peace and quiet for a while, become aware of your breathing.

Breathe slowly, deeply, and feel the fresh air you inhale and the warm air you exhale through your nose….enjoy the state of tranquility and relaxation. You are not in a hurry.

Now move your fingers and toes, open your eyes, stretch your body, breathe deeply, yawn, and feel completely awake; now you are completely relaxed and full of energy and vitality.

 

Visualizations may be used for stress management, as a therapy to face disease, influence our immune system by increasing its efficiency or by reducing its reactions, – eliminate phobias, control anguish and anxiety, or set and strengthen goals and objectives, etc.

Based on the visualization technique you have learned, create your own personal visualization by choosing a theme and a way to express it whenever you feel like it.
